The Flavours of Vietnam

Fragrant broths, rice paper rolls, stir-fries, noodles ... Vietnamese cuisine is the food for now- light and delicious. Meera Freeman and Le Van Nhan invite you to take up your pots and woks and enjoy the countless delights of cooking and eating authentic Vietnamese food.

There are more than a hundred recipes in this definitive collection, many of which have been passed down from generation to generation but have never been written down. Traditional Vietnamese proverbs are woven through the text, and the book features gorgeous colour photographs of the dishes. Meera hopes that through this book, we can gain a better understanding of the wonderful cuisine and culture of Vietnam - you will also gain confidence in ordering at Vietnamese restaurants!

Meera Freeman

Meera Freeman is the author of The Flavours of Vietnam. She is a food consultant, runs cooking classes specialising in Italian, Thai, North African and Vietnamese cuisines and leads popular walking tours through the Asian food stores along Melbourne's Victoria Street. Her involvement with the Vietnamese community there has seen her dubbed 'First Lady of Victoria Street' by the traders she visits. Now considered an expert on the food of Vietnam, she has been invited to lead tours to that country and is often asked to write or comment on Asian cuisines.
